ROCKMART PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Mother’s Morning Out – The church sponsored program operates on Monday mornings from 9:00am until 12 noon.  Volunteers provide nurture and care for the children.  A family member is asked to stay with the children once a month or so in order for this ministry to continue to be offered free of charge.  The church understands that God gifts us with our children and that to nurture them and provide loving places for them to grow are part of God’s calling.  Rockmart Presbyterian Church wishes to be such a place for children and families.  Jesus says in the Gospel of Mark “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (10:14). When he finishes speaking, Jesus takes the children in his arms to assure them of love.  Teaching social skills as well as play will be vital parts of the program.  Arts and crafts, story time and music will be offered as well.

 

Safe Haven – The church serves as a supervised visitation facility for families who are attempting to reunite.  Members have been trained to supervise the visits of family members.  The church facility offers an inviting area for visitation in a more relaxed atmosphere which can foster improved relationships.  Rockmart Presbyterian Church is committed to bringing families together and to serving in our community.  Safe Haven offers an excellent way to be involved.

 

Mission Activities - Rockmart Presbyterian Church sponsors several mission projects throughout the year.  It is believed that Mission supports our faith and faith compels us towards mission.  In addition to special offerings taken over the course of the year for a variety of programs, other mission activities occur.  Collecting bed sheets and baby layettes for Africa, raising money for Palms or the Moringa Tree so that the Congolese can help themselves and raising funds for mosquito nets to fight Malaria are a few of these projects.  Rockmart Presbyterian Church will also be joining with the Cartersville Presbyterian Church in mission trips to the Presbytery of Mississippi for hands on mission experience.

 

Missionary Support – The church is in the process of supporting a missionary.  Watch for more news concerning the person and how we can be a part of their outreach.
